Last Saturday we hosted a successful Basic Car Maintenance workshop. Designed for everyday drivers looking to better understand their vehicles, the event was a hands-on, informative experience that left attendees more confident in taking care of their cars.
The workshop covered essential topics like oil changes, tyre maintenance, fluid checks, and what to do if you break down. Our certified mechanic and Pascoe Vale Rotarian Steve Pappas led interactive demonstrations, allowing participants to get under the hood and learn by doing. We also provided a glovebox take-home guide to encourage safety and continued learning.
Feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Many attendees expressed how good it was to finally understand the basics of car care—something they had often left entirely to professionals.
“Excellent course, great value for money, would be a great gift for new drivers”
“This was an excellent, informative and hands-on course. I learnt a lot, was able to practise on my own car and aslo felt comfortable enough to ask plenty of questions”
“Steve was an excellent instructor and happy to answer any questions as they arose.”
We’re thrilled with the response and are already planning our next run of workshops. Whether you’re a beginner or just want a refresher, our goal remains the same: to make car maintenance accessible, understandable, and even fun.
Stay tuned for future dates—we’d love to see you at the next one!
