We were thrilled to run our first ever Basic Car Maintenance workshop for ages 16-22. In collaboration with Moreland and Strathmore Rotary Clubs and SES Fawkner, these workshops aim to provide younger drivers with a basic level of knowledge about how to maintain their cars, as well as safe practices.
Participants heard from the SES and Victoria Police, who provided valuable insight and information about safer driving, before heading outside for the hands-on portion of the workshop.
Pascoe Vale Rotarian Steve was our instructor, and demonstrated maintenance tasks such as topping up fluids, changing a tyre, roadworthiness, checking air pressure in tyres, finding the VIN number, tyre placard plus lots more.
Feedback from our young drivers was very positive, and we look forward to running more workshops. If you are part of another Rotary Club and would like to run these programs please reach out to us at [email protected].
