Our club was honoured to have Dr Emma Burrows speak to us at our last meeting. Emma is a neuroscientist by training, and now works across research, health, and community projects that aim to make science more useful and accessible.
Emma helps lead a global clinical trial platform called TrialScreen, which connects everyday Australians with health research that might benefit them. She has also been a long-time advocate for women in science, has worked on local community science initiatives like BioQuisitive and the Phoenix School Program and has even dabbled in art as a form of health messaging.
Emma collaborated with artist Hiromi Tango to create The Wheel, an interactive art installation that explores the effects of exercise on our moods.
A truly outstanding presentation with lots of questions and much discussion later into the evening. Thank you Emma for a very informative and inspirational talk.
