Tree planting at Edgars Creek

Blog, Community

Sunday July 27th weatherwise dawned a much more benign day than we had expected. By 10am a crowd of local families and community groups including Pascoe Vale Rotary Club members had descended upon the Edgars Creek tree planting site, signed in, picked up their gloves and a trowel and set to work transferring native plants into freshly dug holes.

Many families came, with children enthusiastically worked away planting and hammering tree guards in around the vulnerable little shoots. Meanwhile our trusty PVRC chefs Steve P and Matt W were in the BBQ trailer, converting countless sausages and onions into a delicious post-work meal for all those who had worked up a well-earned appetite.

All in all, 1000 native plants were planted and had protective shields erected around them. Many thanks to all those who came and contributed to the future health of our environment.
